Typical job
2-car garage, full-flake

Fort Collins garages run the whole range. Near Old Town and the university you see older homes with one-car or detached garages, original slabs and decades of oil stains, settling cracks and patch jobs. Mid-century ranches and split-levels across the middle of town usually have attached two-car garages that have never been sealed.

Out on the east and southeast sides, newer subdivisions come with two- and three-car attached garages and clean, young slabs. Add the shops, home gyms, basements and small businesses around town, and there's no single Fort Collins floor. That's why every job starts with a look at your slab, not a one-size quote.

Whatever the floor, the job looks the same: we diamond-grind the slab, repair cracks and pits, put down a base coat, broadcast flake or quartz (or pour metallic), and seal it with a clear topcoat. No acid etching, no roll-on kits.

02Why coat it

Built for Fort Collins winters.

At about 5,000 feet, Fort Collins sees big daily temperature swings, hard freezes and spring snow that melts the same afternoon. Every one of those cycles pushes water in and out of bare concrete, and the deicer that rides in on your tires all winter keeps eating at the surface.

Three things wear out Colorado garage floors, and a properly installed coating handles all three:

  1. 1

    Freeze-thaw

Bare concrete is porous. Snowmelt soaks in, freezes overnight and expands, and over a few Fort Collins winters that pops the surface into scaling, pits and spalled edges by the door.
  2. 2

    Mag chloride & road deicer

Colorado roads are treated with magnesium chloride and other deicers. It rides home on your tires, drips off as the car warms up and keeps eating at a bare slab. On a sealed floor it stays on top, where it rinses off.
  3. 3

    Hot-tire pickup

Tires heat up on the highway. Park a hot tire on a thin, poorly bonded coating and it can soften and lift right off with the tire. Diamond-ground prep and a real topcoat are how we prevent it.

“These guys are awesome, came in, figured out what needed to be done, and knocked it out. I had a large crack on my floor, along with several smaller ones, and they are gone. The large one was 9 ft and going in several different directions, and it's gone. Great job guys!!”

09FAQ

Fort Collins questions.

Don't see yours? Call and ask. That's what the phone's for.

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost in Fort Collins?

Our full-flake garage system runs about $6.25–$6.50 per sq ft. For example, a 2-car garage (about 450 sq ft) with full-flake lands around $2,813–$2,925. Slab repair can change that, so your final price comes after a free on-site measure.

Can you coat an older detached garage in Fort Collins?

Usually, yes. Older slabs often have cracks, pitting or an old coating on them. We diamond-grind the surface, repair cracks and pits, and then coat. If a slab has a moisture or structural problem we'll tell you at the free on-site measure before you spend anything.

Will a coating stop the dust from my old garage floor?

Yes. Bare concrete keeps shedding fine dust as the surface wears. A ground and coated floor seals that surface, so it sweeps and mops clean instead of dusting up.
