01Garages in Mead
What Mead floors look like.
Mead is a small town off I-25 that has added newer neighborhoods while keeping plenty of acreage around it. That means a mix of attached garages in new subdivisions and shops, barns and outbuildings on bigger lots.
Whether it's a three-car garage or a shop that stores equipment, the floor gets the same diamond-ground prep and crack repair before coating.
Whatever the floor, the job looks the same: we diamond-grind the slab, repair cracks and pits, put down a base coat, broadcast flake or quartz (or pour metallic), and seal it with a clear topcoat. No acid etching, no roll-on kits.
02Why coat it
Built for Mead winters.
Mead's open ground means wind and blowing snow in the winter, and the treated roads leave deicer on every vehicle that comes home. On bare concrete, that's what starts scaling and pitting.
Three things wear out Colorado garage floors, and a properly installed coating handles all three:
- 1
Freeze-thaw
Bare concrete is porous. Snowmelt soaks in, freezes overnight and expands, and over a few Mead winters that pops the surface into scaling, pits and spalled edges by the door. - 2
Mag chloride & road deicer
Colorado roads are treated with magnesium chloride and other deicers. It rides home on your tires, drips off as the car warms up and keeps eating at a bare slab. On a sealed floor it stays on top, where it rinses off. - 3
Hot-tire pickup
Tires heat up on the highway. Park a hot tire on a thin, poorly bonded coating and it can soften and lift right off with the tire. Diamond-ground prep and a real topcoat are how we prevent it.

Real Iron Cross jobs, photographed before we started and after we finished. No filters, no renders.

BeforeAfter“These guys are awesome, came in, figured out what needed to be done, and knocked it out. I had a large crack on my floor, along with several smaller ones, and they are gone. The large one was 9 ft and going in several different directions, and it's gone. Great job guys!!”
