Quartz broadcast floors

Colored quartz sand in resin: a heavy-duty, slip-resistant floor for working spaces.

Typical range $7.00–$9.00 per sq ft · final price after a free on-site measure

01What it is

Quartz, done right.

Best for

  • Commercial kitchens
  • Wash bays and locker rooms
  • High-traffic shops

A quartz broadcast floor is built by broadcasting colored quartz sand into wet resin, then sealing it. The result is a dense, textured, heavy-duty floor with real grip, even when it's wet.

Quartz is the floor for working spaces that see water, grit and constant traffic: commercial kitchens, wash bays, locker rooms, mudrooms and busy shops. The colored quartz grains give a speckled, stone-like look, and the texture can be tuned from aggressive grip to a finer, easier-to-clean finish.

Because the quartz is part of the coating build, it's tougher than a standard roll-on floor and it hides wear well. It's a good choice anywhere slipping is a real concern.

02The process

How we install it.

  1. 1

    Diamond-grind the slab

We grind the whole floor with diamond tooling to remove the weak top layer, sealers, stains and old coatings, and to open the concrete up. That profile is what lets the coating bite into the slab instead of sitting on top of it, which is why acid etching and roll-on kits peel and ground floors don't.
  2. 2

    Repair cracks, pits and spalls

Cracks are cut open and filled, pitting and spalled spots by the door are patched, and every repair is ground flush with the slab. Fixing them before coating keeps them from telegraphing through your new floor.
  3. 3

    Resin and quartz broadcast

A resin coat goes down and colored quartz aggregate is broadcast into it while it's wet. Some floors get two broadcasts for a thicker build.
  4. 4

    Scrape and grout coat

Loose quartz is removed and a grout coat fills between the grains to lock them in place.
  5. 5

    Topcoat and texture

A clear topcoat seals the floor. How much texture is left is set by how the space is used: more grip for wet areas, smoother for easier mopping.

03Time & care

How long, and how to keep it.

Good for commercial kitchens, wash bays, locker rooms, mudrooms and high-traffic shops.

Quartz floors are a multi-coat system, so they usually take longer than a flake garage. For commercial spaces we plan the schedule around your operation at the walkthrough.

Cure time depends on the resins and the temperature. We'll tell you when the space can open to foot traffic and when it can take full use.

Caring for your floor

  • Mop or scrub with a neutral cleaner; textured floors clean best with a deck brush or auto-scrubber.
  • Squeegee standing water to drains.
  • Rinse off grease and harsh chemicals rather than letting them sit.

FAQ

Quartz questions.

Don't see yours? Call and ask. That's what the phone's for.

How much does a quartz floor cost?

Quartz broadcast runs about $7–$9 per sq ft. A 450 sq ft space lands around $3,150–$4,050. Commercial jobs are priced after a free walkthrough.

Is quartz better than flake?

For wet, gritty, high-traffic spaces, quartz is the tougher, grippier choice. For home garages, flake is usually the better fit for looks and cost.

Is a quartz floor slip-resistant?

Yes. That's the main reason to choose it. The texture can be adjusted for the space, from aggressive grip to a finer finish that's easier to clean.

Do you install quartz floors in commercial kitchens?

Yes. Quartz is built for kitchens, wash bays and locker rooms. Call 970-599-1898 to set up a walkthrough and we'll plan around your schedule.

“These guys are awesome, came in, figured out what needed to be done, and knocked it out. I had a large crack on my floor, along with several smaller ones, and they are gone. The large one was 9 ft and going in several different directions, and it's gone. Great job guys!!”

You can tell they take pride in their process — the floor looks clean, uniform, and professionally installed. They showed up on time, kept the workspace organized, and delivered exactly what was promised.”
