01Overview

Home interior floors, done right.

Good for

  • Kitchens
  • Living rooms
  • Home offices
  • Entryways and mudrooms

A coated floor isn't only for the garage. On a concrete slab, the same systems we install in shops and garages make a seamless, glossy floor for the rooms you actually live in: open kitchens, living rooms, home offices, entryways and mudrooms.

Metallic epoxy is the most popular choice inside the house. It's poured and worked by hand, so the pigment flows into movement and depth, and no two floors look the same. If you want something quieter, a solid color or a fine flake blend gives a clean, modern look that's easy to live with.

There are no grout lines, seams or carpet to hold dirt, pet hair or spills, so the floor sweeps and mops clean. That's why coated floors work well for families with kids and pets and for people with allergies.

One honest note: coatings go on concrete. They're a great fit for slab-on-grade homes, ranch homes, basements, new builds with an exposed slab, and rooms where you're pulling up carpet or tile over concrete. If your floors are built over wood framing, tell us when you call and we'll be straight with you about whether a coating is the right choice.

02The process

How we do it.

  1. 1

    Free walkthrough

We look at the slab, check for moisture and old flooring, and help you pick a system and color.
  2. 2

    Protect the room

Cabinets, walls and baseboards are masked off before any grinding starts.
  3. 3

    Grind and repair the concrete

We diamond-grind the slab so the coating bonds into the concrete, then fill cracks, pits and low spots and grind them flush. Good prep is what keeps a floor from peeling.
  4. 4

    Base, color and topcoat

The base coat, the metallic pour or flake, and a clear topcoat go down in the order your system calls for.
  5. 5

    Cure and walk-through

We give you the cure schedule for foot traffic and furniture, and walk the finished floor with you.

FAQ

Home interior floors questions.

Don't see yours? Call and ask. That's what the phone's for.

Can you put epoxy in a kitchen or living room?

Yes, as long as the floor is concrete. Slab-on-grade homes, basements and rooms with carpet or tile over a slab are all good candidates. We confirm it at the free walkthrough.

Is an epoxy floor cold or hard underfoot?

It's as firm as the concrete under it, like tile or polished concrete. Area rugs work well on top.

What does an interior epoxy floor cost?

Metallic floors run about $9–$12 per sq ft and solid color about $5–$6, including diamond-ground prep. Removing old tile, glue or carpet pad can add to it. The final price comes after a free on-site look.

Will it smell up the house?

Some coatings have an odor while they cure. We'll talk through ventilation and timing at the estimate so you can plan around it.

“These guys are awesome, came in, figured out what needed to be done, and knocked it out. I had a large crack on my floor, along with several smaller ones, and they are gone. The large one was 9 ft and going in several different directions, and it's gone. Great job guys!!”
